SAVE THE DATE: One Billion Rising

On 14th February we do not only celebrate Valentine's Day but also the worldwide campaign "One Bilion Rising" which invites one billion women - and men - to go out, to dance and to protest against violence against girls and women. But why one billion? According to statistics of the United Nations, one out of three women around the world becomes a victim of violence - about one billion women. We want to protest against this and demonstrate that we will not take this as an unalterable fact. In Bitburg, there will also be such an act of protest in the pedestrian area. We will meet on 14th February at 1 p.m. at the "Spittel" (a place at the beginning of the pedestrian zone) and we will demonstrate by means of a dance for the equality, security and freedom of girls and women.

The Euro-BBW will also take part again with a stall of our Tea and Eifel Shop and thus provide for delicious and warming tea during the event. We are looking forward to many dancers!

The event is organised by the equal opportunities officers of the city of Bitburg and the Eifel region in collaboration with: MuKi Tanzstudio Miranda Goebels, Mrs. Sporty, drum group "Akina Tambo", Donum Vitae pregnancy counselling office and the Euro-BBW.
